Especially because I have discovered that some of our donations to charity shops remain unsold and end up in the landfill anyway or even worse, they are bought by vintage shops owners to be resold at higher prices or sent to 3rd World countries, again not for free! Apparently this a very common practice and only few thrift shops try to save the garments by upcycling them. What we can do? Stop shopping new clothes but finding creative ways to refresh our old ones could be a great start.

Tutto cio' mi preoccupa. No, non sono ipocrita e so benissimo che sono stata parte del problema negli ultimi 15 anni. Ma ora ho finalmente aperto gli occhi e in missione per fare il mio per risolvere questo problema. Soprattutto perché ho scoperto che alcune delle nostre donazioni ai negozi di beneficenza rimangono invendute e finiscono comunque in discarica o peggio ancora, vengono acquistate dai proprietari di negozi vintage per essere rivendute a prezzi più alti o inviate nei paesi del terzo mondo, ancora una volta non gratis! Apparentemente questa è una pratica molto comune e solo pochi negozi cercano di salvare i capi reciclandoli in qualche modo. Cosa possiamo fare noi per stoppare tutto cio'? Smettere di fare shopping di vestiti nuovi, ma trovare modi creativi per rinfrescare i nostri vecchi potrebbe essere un ottimo inizio.

Arrêtons d'acheter de nouveaux vêtements, mais trouvons des moyens créatifs pour rafraîchir nos anciens pourrait être un excellent début.
